Mechanical Services

The Mechanical Division is a fully equipped Designated Inspection Facility responsible for all maintenance and overhaul of the city owned fleet to include all light duty, heavy duty construction equipment, firefighting apparatus, and the Williams Lake Regional Airport equipment. 

The airport equipment is maintained at a satellite shop located onsite at the Williams Lake Airport.

All equipment is licensed and equipped for safe operation and maintained in compliance with the Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program, Motor Vehicle Act and Workers Compensation Board. 

Complete welding and fabrication services are also provided for the fleet and all other city departments. 

New vehicles and heavy equipment are purchased by the tender or quotation process. Specifications for equipment to be purchased are prepared by the Manager of Buildings and Transportation with input from other divisional managers, mechanical staff and user groups.
