Emergency response works due to the 2020 flooding in the river valley have now come to an end. Recovery works for permanent infrastructure installation are slated to begin this spring.
At this time, the river valley will remain closed for recreation until further notice, until the trail is deemed safe for recreational purposes.
We encourage the community to take advantage of the many winter recreation opportunities available in our area. In addition to the RC Cotton Trail, Scout Island and City parks, you can enjoy snowshoeing the trails on Fox Mountain, hiking up to Signal Point Hill or attending weekend afternoon free skates and other fitness opportunities at the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex. A short drive takes you to Bull Mountain for cross-country skiing.
Visit the Cariboo Memorial Recreation Complex website at https://www.williamslake.ca/130/Recreation-Complex or call 250.398.7665 to learn about available recreation programs and activities in Williams Lake.
